First Member Summit Announced
The Michigan Digital Preservation Network is excited to announce our first Member Summit on June 15, 2021! This virtual event will feature digital preservation professionals from across the country discussing topics for newcomers and more advanced practitioners alike, as well as announcements about the MDPN’s technical infrastructure and membership benefits and services. We’re also excited to welcome Trevor Owens, Head of Digital Content Management for Library Services at the Library of Congress and author of The Theory and Craft of Digital Preservation, as our keynote speaker.
The Member Summit is open to all professionals at historical societies, museums, archives, and libraries across the state. We encourage volunteers or staff from different departments – from archivists and collections managers to IT professionals and executive director or deans – to attend and learn more about the value of digital preservation and how the MDPN plans to provide a path to access these vital services. Please share this message broadly with your networks and encourage colleagues to attend.
Look out for more information about the Member Summit, including registration links and a full schedule of presentations, in May.
