Advisory Committee Visioning Meeting

At the end of August, the MDPN’s Advisory Committee convened to discuss the vision that would guide the Network’s future work. Using the SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, and Results) facilitation method, the group discussed how the MDPN would impact digital preservation practice throughout the state, potential institutional partnerships, and what services and characteristics the future MDPN would be known for. This discussion ultimately shaped our new Mission, Vision, and Value Statements located on the About page. Many thanks to the Committee members who were present – Rick Adler (DPLA Michigan Hub), Heidi Butler (Capital Area District Libraries), Sharon Carson (Historical Society of Michigan), Jeffrey Daniels (Grand Valley State), Paul Gallagher (Western Michigan), Ranti Junus (Michigan State), Nathan Kemler (Michigan Museum Association), Matt Schulz (Educopia Institute), Mark Szidik (MCLS), and Shannon White (Library of Michigan) – for their insightful thoughts and good conversation!
