MDPN x CultureSource on Digital Archiving & Preservation
Join MDPN Coordinator, Dr. Chelsea Denault, for a free panel presentation, “Digital Archiving: Preserving Work, Saving Coin,” on February 25 from noon-1pm in association with CultureSource. The presentation will address what digital preservation is, how it differs from other information backups, and how the MDPN plans to offer a path to digital preservation services to organizations of all sizes across Michigan. Other presenters include Brian Wilson, Senior Manager of Archives and Library at The Henry Ford, and Jonah Raduns-Silverstein, Deputy Director of the Detroit Sound Conservancy.
CultureSource is a member association for non-profit arts and cultural organizations in Southeast Michigan serving Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Livingston, Monroe and St. Clair Counties. As a regional service organization, they accomplish this work through hosting professional development workshops that grow creative and leadership capacities, presenting programs that provide space for exchanging ideas about arts and culture, and leading initiatives that bring together stakeholders interested in the public accessing creative expression.
